I wish I could have had this book years ago. This book is so freaking awesome!

I am writing this review based on the audible version of the book. If there was a book that anyone can relate to and a book anyone can read or listen to. This is that book. I really appreciate the honesty and transparency from Joshua Tongol in this book. Joshua Tongol is not just speaking to a certain group of people or only to people who know him. He wrote this book for all people from all walks of life. I had to listen to this book twice before I could give a review. This book has helped me to be more real with myself. It has helped me to have more hope with certain issues I have had to face and deal with. Such as Insecurities, health issues, Fear, Financial issues, Doubting myself, Loving myself, believing in myself. A lot of my views and my perceptions of life and myself have changed for me even before I got this book. And yes I was already having more hope and more inspiration before I got this book. However this book helped me a lot in my journey, it enlightens me, it inspires me, it encourages me, it uplifts me, it motivates me, it challenges me, it gets to me to think, it stretches my mind, and it helps gives me more hope. This book has helped me to come more of awareness that there is a difference between the subconscious mind and the conscious mind. You can tell that Joshua really wants to help people, he wants to inspire people, he wants to motivate people, he wants to encourage people, he wants to uplift people, he wants to get people to think, he wants help people to create there own reality. I sometimes think when I am listening to the audible version of this book that it is like listening to a real good friend who is very understanding and very open minded giving you great advice! You can feel all that coming from Joshua's heart in this book. This book is helping me a lot in a short period of time. When I start to listen it helps me to put a smile on my face, it helps me feel at peace, it helps my attitude, it helps me to enjoy life more, it helps me to know that this Universe is for me and that the Universe is a friendly Universe! Me listening to audible version has got me to want to buy the paper back version. This book has helped remind me of who I am and has helped remind me of my true identity. This book has helped me to be more thankful and to have more of an attitude of gratitude. This book has helped me to be more of a giver and it has inspired me to want to help people more. Remarkable beyond words!!!

Joshua - Because you deserve all the goodness as you thought the same for many others.

I cannot help myself but hear your voice while reading your book (thanks to youtube LOL)

One of the greatest self-help, how-to books out there, this made me realise the reality I am in at the present, and how I can achieve a better and most certainly the reality that we deserve. For many years I criticised myself, feeling not-so-worth-it, and struggled with suicidal tendencies, this book just hit home for me, this brought about awareness of why the things we want to happen in our life seem to not manifest, its like eating a huge bowl of happiness reading all of your experiences. I do not mean to spiritualise this moment, but coming from a mind blowing experience with your book So You Thought You Knew, I guess it’s safe to say “thank you, for once again, being the face of Jesus in this masterpiece”, I bought and read it at the perfect time. I said it before and I’ll say it again “I am Ready” to embark on a new and life-changing journey. Because we all deserve it. Also, what a perfect way to end it, brought me to tears (no kidding) :p

This review won’t cut it.

But let me thank you for your COURAGE. Thank you for being an inspiration to many. For making your words simple yet effective. Lastly, for igniting in us the desire to change without imposing.

A must read for all young people to start off right financially (and yes, quite a few of us old ones should read it too!)

The Future Millionaire's Guidebook is chock full of extensive financial information that I wished I had known when I first got out of college (even with a finance degree which was useless for real life finances!). The authors have managed to clearly describe financial topics in a fun and understandable way to both young and old. In one section stocks are described as "that guy or gal, your mother warned you about...fast, loose and unpredictable" and bonds are described "as the guy or gal your parents hope you end up with."

The book is very comprehensive dealing with every financial topic that one would need to know such as bad and good debt, credit cards, retirement saving, college loans, real estate, investing, taxes, and estate planning. The book also includes such items that often are not discussed in depth in other forums such as opening bank accounts, auto insurance, how to buy a car, putting aside some money for fun, and planning both short and long term goals. In each chapter there is a brief fun quiz. If you just bought the book and did each quiz, you would quickly know which chapters to focus first on. And yes, the answers are in the back but reading the chapter is the way to succeed!

I am a financial planner and I will recommend this book to all of my clients - both young and old. I see it as a great resource to initially read and then to review specific sections as needed. Money matters are not taught in school or by many parents. Money knowledge has been learned by the "seat of our pants" for most people and the results are apparent in low savings rates and high debt rates. This book is truly a guidebook for all who want to succeed financially and to reach their own personal financial goals.

If this book were a meal it would be nutritious and tasty...

The author and contributors to this book have distilled a whole lot of financial savvy into a guide that's easy to read and digest. I plan to buy copies for my 20 something niece and nephew, and wish I'd had something like it when I was their age. Great information. We have Barnabas Horse Foundation for Children and are using EAP to help children who have been traumatized. We were certified by Greg Kiersten of the O.K. Corral series in EAP. I constantly look for valid information to continue education and build our resources. This book is a great resource and tool. She effectively gives the reasoning behind the different exercises. It is written for clinical professionals, but as a layperson to psychology ( I am the horse expert), I did not find her book hard to read and understand.

Dr. Trotter has compiled valuable interventions, with sufficient detail and information to guide properly trained therapists in their use. This is a very valuable resource for mental health therapists and educators involving equines in their work!

Pretty good book, worth the price

This book has many examples of games and exercises for EFT. The explanations of the games and exercises are well written and easily understood. The only drawback is that those games and exercises are really on a very basic level and rely almost exclusively on the benefits of the limbic connection between horses and humans. In short, the book doesn't have exercises that require more of the student and the horse than the good old touchy-feely benefits. Nonetheless, I would recommend this book as a starting point for anyone who wants to include EFT in their program.

Good, Not Great, Compendium of Military Leaders

This is a good, not great book. While there are some very good stories regarding leaders, the analyses are somewhat superficial. This is likely a function of the word limits provided to the contributors. I felt like I was reading awards citations written by fawning subordinates about leaders who are just a little "too perfect". The fact is that some of these leaders had faults that are simplistically over-looked but important to consider in any serious leadership discussions. This is a primer for introducing key leaders but should be used with care since it does not provide the depth necessary to critically analyze the leadership used by the subjects. It is a level above "Wiki" knowledge but does not substitute for in-depth biographies.

Good bio sketches; poor leadership studies

The book is a good book to help military officers study successful leaders, and possibly motivate these officers to grow, but that's about the extent of its utility.

The book is based on the trait theory of leadership, and each chapter illustrates a trait through the story of a general. Two problems; one, most in behavioral science have moved past the trait theory of leadership (about 70 years ago), and two, the bios sometimes feel shoe-horned to fit the trait being described.

Not a bad book, but not great either.

George Washington was the highlight of this book!

A visitor to New York can step back in time and touch our Colonial and Revolutionary past with a tour of Fraunces Tavern on 54 Pearl Street in lower Manhattan. In this haunt of old New York you will find a selection of draft beers, oysters, and American history. This is a beautifully-restored colonial tavern that was founded by Samuel Fraunces in 1767. It was in the Long room of Fraunces tavern in 1783 that General George Washington bade an emotional farewell to his officers after winning victory in the American Revolution. He had hoped to retire peacefully to his farm at Mount Vernon. It was not to be.

George Washington was the "indispensable man" of the American Revolution. He led the nation in a long struggle against the greatest military power of that age -- the British Empire. The American Revolution has proven to be by far the most successful Revolution in human history. It is the Revolution whose reverberations that continually encourage the cause of human liberty are felt to this day.

At the heart of this Revolution was a leader of exceptional integrity. He shared the sufferings of the men under his command at Valley Forge and throughout the Revolution. On March 15, 1783 Washington addressed his officers in Fraunces Tavern thus: "I have never left your side one moment...I have been the constant companion and witness of your Distress, and not among the last to feel and acknowledge your merits...I have ever considered my own Military reputation as inseparably connected with that of the Army."

Some of Washington's officers were tempted by the prospect of using their military superiority to the over the rings of the Colonial government. They wanted him to become an American Caesar. Washington rebuffed those who sought to "overturn the liberties of our Country". He demanded that they do nothing "which, viewed in the calm light of reason, will lessen the dignity and sully the glory you have hitherto maintained."

At the conclusion of the war the Continental Congress was essentially broke. His officers feared that neither they nor their men would be paid. Washington sought to reassure his officers with a densely written text explaining the nation's financial difficulties. He pulled his spectacles out of his pocket to read more easily and remarked, "Gentlemen, you must pardon me, I have grown gray in your service and now find myself going blind."

In 1783 New York was the nation's capitol. George Washington formally resigned his commission on 23 December, 1783. He addressed the president of Congress, Thomas Mifflin as follows: "Having now finished the whorl assigned me, I retire from the great theatre of Action; an bidding an Affectionate farewell to this August body under whose orders I have so long acted, I here offer my commission , and take my leave of all the employments of public life." Mifflin responded, "You have conducted the great military contest with wisdom and fortitude, through invariably regarding the rights of the civil government through all disasters and changes."
