I know a few people who purchased study guides from Mometrix Media LLC, and I can say with confidence that they are worthless. Their test prep books contain only generic test-prep material that is NOT tailored for any particular exam. They publish study guides for tests like the Accuplacer, because they know that there is so little material available for people who take these tests, and test-takers will be suckered into buying their crappy books. They are CONMEN, producing generic, useless books for a quick buck. And the other review is clearly from a company employee.
You're better off studying with online tools or using a study guide from a different test (and a more respected publisher).

I used the Accuplacer Practice Exams from Mometrix Media to review for my placement exam. I ordered and used this together with the Accuplacer Exam Flashcard Study, and aced my exam after using these to review! (Quick delivery, by the way!)
Typically I do not care for study guides (at least not the ones I've bought), but once in a while you find something that works. This one is the first that has been as helpful as I hoped, and is also the first time I've ever actually *enjoyed* using study guides to refresh myself on academic skills, so it should say something that I am actually writing a review. Enrolling in college at a non-traditional age, being in my late thirties and having never attended, I had a LOT of review to do. Even saying that is an understatement, taking into account how long it has been since I've done ANY academic work.
I feel confident I had FAR better results on my test due to utilizing the Practice Questions, and did doubly well having used it in combination with the Accuplacer Exam Flashcard Study. The biggest benefit for me was in Math. The products review both Math and Reading/Writing skills thoroughly. Even as someone for whom taking exams comes easily, it is easy to get confused by tricky wording and test taking can be mind-numbing after a while. After using the Practice Questions, I felt completely prepared and got through the test easily! I recommend it to anyone taking this test!
